IELTS Test Formats
  • Time Duration:11-14 minutes
  • Sections:
    • Part 1:General questions about yourself, family, studies, and daily life (4-5 minutes).
    • Part 2:A topic card with one minute to prepare and two minutes to speak.
    • Part 3:Discussion related to the topic from Part 2, involving deeper analysis and opinion (4-5 minutes).

Speaking Assessment Criteria:

  • Fluency and Coherence:Natural speed with minimal hesitation and clear structure.
  • Pronunciation:Clear articulation with appropriate intonation and pauses.
  • Lexical Resource:Varied vocabulary used accurately.
  • Grammatical Range and Accuracy:Correct use of complex grammatical structures.
  • Total Time:40 minutes (30 minutes + 10 minutes transfer time)

    • Part 1:A conversation between two people in a daily context.
    • Part 2:A monologue in a daily context (e.g., domestic amenities).
    • Part 3:A discussion among four people in an educational context (e.g., a project discussion).
    • Part 4: A lecture on an academic subject.
